Baseball Placed in Duluth Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA released the field of 56 teams for the 2018 NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament on Monday morning, placing the Spartans as a five seed in the Duluth, Minnesota Regional for the weekend of May 17th to May 20th.

Six teams will compete at three regional sites and eight teams will compete at five regional sites. All regionals will use a double-elimination format. Forty conference champions qualified automatically.

Concordia Chicago, who is ranked 10th in the latest D3baseball.com poll, was picked as the one seed in the region. The Spartans beat the Cougars earlier this season, 16-5. North Central (Ill.) who is recieving votes in the latest poll was awarded the second seed, with#7 UW-Oskosh being picked as the three seed. Bethel at the four seed and Bethany Lutherany as the six and final seed rounds out the Duluth Regional.

The Spartans will open the regional at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon against North Central. Full tournament schedule is listed belos

The regional is being hosted by The College of St. Scholastica at Wade Stadium in Duluth. More information will be posted to this page as it comes available.
