Big Second Half Gives Spartans First Victory

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque women’s soccer team got off to a slow start on Saturday afternoon but scored three second half goals to secure their first win of the season.

How It Happened
-In a defensive first half, Carthage fired six shots, three on goal but could not score a goal
- UD did not attempt a single shot in the first half
-Tiffany Limmex scored the first goal of the game for UD in the 51st minute
-UD did not waste much time after their first goal, scoring another four minutes later as Jordan Cadena kicked in a rebound off of the Carthage goalkeeper.
-Carthage attempted eight more shots in the second half, four on goal, but the Spartan defense kept the Lady Red from getting any real scoring chances.

-Roether, a freshman, recorded a shutout in her first career start in goal.
-All three of the Spartans goals were scored by freshman
