CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – For the second straight week, a University of Dubuque women's track and field athlete has earned Iowa Conference Field Performer of the week. This week, Rebecca Burmahl (Monticello/Monticello, Iowa) brought home the honors after her performance at the University of Dubuque Invitational.

Burmahl’s performance on Saturday helped the UD women to a team points title. Burmahl took home the title in the hammer throw to give her the best mark in the Iowa Conference and eighth best in the nation. She also finished second in the discus with a season best throw of 41.90m/137’6”. Her second place finish was behind her teammate, and last week’s IIAC Field Performer of the Week, Abby Willis.

Between indoor and outdoor season, Burmahl is the fourth different Spartan to earn Iowa Conference performer of the week honors on the women’s side.

The Spartans track and field schedule resumes this weekend at the Simpson College Kip Jarvin Invite and the 109th Drake Relays.
