Carissa Brown Voted Second Team All-North Region

DUBUQUE, Iowa – After being named Iowa Conference Defensive Player of the Year, University of Dubuque women’s soccer player, Carissa Brown, was named to the All-North Region Second Team by the United Soccer Coaches.
Carissa Brown (Oswego, Ill./Owsego), started all 17 games for the Spartans during her freshman campaign, helping the Spartans to a 9-4-4 record and a second place finish in the Iowa Conference regular season. Brown helped anchor the Spartan defense that pitched 10 shutouts during the regular season and held opponents to a total of 14 goals all season for a goals against average of 0.78. The UD defense limited opponents to 179 over the 17 games, while the Spartan offense fired off 223 shots.
Brown was one of 11 players from the Iowa Conference to be named to one of the All-North Region teams.
