Cross Country Set for NCAA Central Region Qualifier

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - On Saturday, the University of Dubuque cross country teams head to the 2017 NCAA Division III Central Region Qualifier in Northfield, Minnesota at Carleton College Course.

The men’s race will get the meet started at 11 a.m., with the women’s race to follow at 12:00 p.m. In the central regional, there are 32 teams participating in the women’s race and 31 on the men’s side. The UD men’s team is starting in the 25th starting box and the women will be starting in box 19.

Senior, Alec Bass, who has only participated in one race this year which he won, will look to qualify for the national meet for the second straight year after finishing in seventh place at the 2016 Central Regional Qualifier.

The region's top two teams and top seven individuals not on qualifying teams automatically qualify for the National meet held in Elsah, Illinois at Principia College North Farm Course, next Saturday, November 18th. Sixteen at-large team bids will be determined after all results are in.
