Lake Finishes with 50 points in Loss

T.J. Lake was unstoppable on Wednesday night for the Spartans, he would lead all scorers with 50 points, a perfect 18-18 at the free throw line.
DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque's T.J. Lake was making shots from anywhere on the court on Wednesday, but the Spartans fell short 91-98 to the Loras College Duhawks. Lake would finish the night with a commanding 50 point performance, his season and career high for the Spartans. He would break the school record of 47 points set by Dave Crawford (vs. Cornell 12/13/90). Lake's incredible night finished with him sinking 12-20 shots from the field, 8-12 from beyone the three point arc, and a perfect 18-18 at the free throw line.
Henry Thompson sank four three point baskets to finish with 13 points. Michael Williams led the rebounding after he attacked the glass to collect 10 rebounds including six defensive grabs. UD made 28-58 shot attempts from the field (48.3%), 12-24 from the three point area (50.0%), and 23-28 at the free throw line (82.1%). Loras scored 40 points in the paint and held UD to 24 points in teh area. UD led for 13:17 and the game was tied nine times and the lead swapped nine times. The Spartand largest lead was eight points at the 13:59 mark of the opening half.
The Spartans are off until next week when they host the Buena Vista University Beavers on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 8:00 p.m. on Jon Davison Court in the Stoltz Sports Center.
