Men's Basketball Win at BVU

STORM LAKE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque need wins to lock in a spot in the 2018 Iowa Conference Men's Basketball Tournament, Wednesday night the Spartans spread the ball around and captured a hard fought road victory over the Buena Vista University Beavers 92-84.
Jamaree Atwater led all scorers with 24 points in 31 minutes of action. Michael Williams grabbed six defensive rebounds and added 21 points. T,J, Lake was held to 18 points and Marcus McDaniel finished with 12 points. UD sank 30-59 shots from the field (50.8%), 14-28 from the three point arc (50%), and 18-25 at the charity stripe (72%).
The Beavers would miss 10 free throws in the loss (19-29) and were out rebounded 38-31. The Spartans travel to play the Coe College Kohawks on Saturday, Feb. 10 where the two teams are tied for 7th in the IIAC with 5-8 records and trail Central by a game for the final qualifying spot.
