Men's Soccer Loses in IIAC Quarterfinals

LINCOLN, Neb. – The University of Dubuque men’s season came to a close in the first round of the Iowa Conference Tournament as they fell on the road to Nebraska Wesleyan, 2-0.

How It Happened
-In the 22nd minute, UD’s Andrew Guelle had a corner kick and lofted a perfect ball into the box for a header by Chris Rigby but it was saved by the NWU goalkeeper
-In the 25th minute, NWU launched a throw in which found Cade Miller, who put it into the left corner of the net for the first goal of the game, putting NWU up 1-0.
-In the 28th minute, UD’s Chris Rigby took a shot from about 25 yards out but was saved by a diving NWU goalie
-In the 30th minute, UD’s Brandon White made a diving save off of a NWU header
-NWU added an insurance goal 11 minutes into the second of the half when Jake Kennedy headed a pass from Hunter Kruse into the net to make it 2-0
-Chris Rigby and Ryan Weber both had good looks for UD in the 67th and 69th minutes but both of their shots sailed high of the net
-With 10 minutes left, UD had another great corner kick but this time the header went off of the crossbar to keep the score at 2-0 in favor of NWU
