Softball Swept by Prairiewolves

LINCOLN, Neb. - The University of Dubuque softball team would garner six hits in the opener, but four errors would allow four unearned runs as the Spartans lost by a 1-7 score. The Nebraska Wesleyan Prairiewolves warmed their bats for the second game and scored 14 runs off 15 hits in a 14-2 five inning victory over UD.
Taylor Allard went 2-3 with an RBI in game one and Gabrielle Marchese was 2-2 in the nightcap and scored a run. UD would leave eight runners on base in the doubleheader.
Taylor Kurtz took the loss on the mound in both games. She allowed three earned runs off seven hits in the first game and gave up 10 earned runs off 12 hits in the second contest.
The Spartans continue their road schedule as they face the Simpson College Storm on April 11 at 3:00 p.m. in Indianola, Iowa, at UW-Platteville Pioneers on April 12 at 4:00 p.m. in Platteville, Wis., and wrap up next week at Wartburg College Kights on April 14 at 2:00 p.m. in Waverly, Iowa.
