Spartan Football Ranks Among Top-10 in Attendance

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA announced the Division III fall football attendance numbers and the University of Dubuque ia among the leaders. UD ranked ninth in the country with an average of 3,884 in the five home games in 2017. Saint Thomas University led Division III and set the new single day record when the rivalry game of St, Thomas vs. St. John's was held at Target Field in the first ever football played at the Minnesota Twins Stadium in Downtown Minneapolis with official attendance of 37,355 which pushed their ranking to the top of Division III.

The Spartans finished 13th overall in home and away attendance with a total of 19,421 in 10 games. The Spartans finished 2017 by selling out 97.1% of total capacity of Chalmers Field for the five home games and hosted the largest alumni crowd ever to watch a homecoming game in nearly ideal conditions in late October.
