Spartans Compete at Brissman-Lundeen Invite

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The University of Dubuque cross country teams battled the hot and humid conditions on Friday afternoon at Augustana Brissman-Lundeen Invite as the women finished in fourth place and the men in 10th.

The Spartan women ran finished in fourth place in the gold division with four runners finishing between 20th and 28th. Junior, Abigail Ray paced the UD runners and finished in 20th with a time 21:28.2 with a pace of 5:46. Jaclyn Roeder was right with Abigail Ray, finishing just one second behind her in 21:28.2. Two freshman finished third and fourth for the Spartans. Heather Muntz and Edith Flores finished 21:53.9 and 22:02.3, respectively.

The men’s team also ran in the gold race, coming in 10th and led by sophomore Dalton Moore who ran at a 4:42 pace to finish in 23:21.2. After Moore finished 46th, another sophomore was the next Spartan to finish in 56th. Joseph Tobin ran his race in a time of 23:36.4. Brandon Amann, Brandon Sindt and Jacob Heitter finished third, fourth and fifth for the Spartans.

The Spartans go to the Warrior Invite in West Allis, Wisconsin next Saturday.
