DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque baseball team spoiled senior day for the Loras College Duhawks by sweeping the doubleheader on Saturday afternoon to sweep the three game weekend series.

How it Happened
-Jack Lasswell singled up the middle to start the game and scored one batter later when Dalton Garst reached on a throwing error by the third baseman.
-Loras answered back in the bottom half of the inning, scoring on a two out single through the wright side to make it 1-1.
-Garst was once again the middle of a Spartan rally, this time doubling to left center before scoring on a Justin Jenson two out single to left field to give UD a 2-1 lead.
-After the first inning, UD starting pitcher Chase Kueter settled down and cruised through the next five innings until the seventh inning. A two out walk in the bottom of the seventh loaded the bases for the Duhawks, but Kueter induced a fly out to center to get out of the jam.
-Nathan Schneiderman locked down the final two innings for the Spartans, fanning three of the seven batters he faced.

How it Happened
-UD jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second off of RBI hits from Zach McCoy and Jarad Clevenger.
-The Spartans plated three more runs in the third inning playing small ball, scoring on a wild pitch, sac fly to center field and a suicide squeeze.
-After Loras scored three runs in the fourth, the Spartans got those runs back in the fifth with a sac fly from Will Doherty and a Zach McCoy steal of home after a throw to second on a Jarad Clevenger stolen base.
-Loras scored four runs, three of them unearned in the bottom of the sixth to grab an 8-7 lead.
-The Spartans led off the ninth inning with a hit batter, single and walk before Tyler Lewan singled through the left side to give UD a 9-8 lead. UD tacked on two more runs with a suicide squeeze and a dropped fly ball.
-Nathan Schneiderman struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth to give the Spartans the come from behind win.
