Spartans Wrestling Takes Augustana Dual

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The University of Dubuque Spartans wrestling needed overtime in the final match of the night to capture the hard fought dual over the host Augustana College Vikings by a 24-19 victory.
Augustana jumped out to the early lead before UD rallied back to take the next two matches. The host Vikings would battle back to take the two out of the three final matches of the evening to make it the match within a few points. UD's Zarik Anderson fought off a nearfall in the final match at 149 lbs. to tie the match 6-6 before it ended in a tie. Anderson captured a quick takedown in overtime to claim the match and secure the Spartan road victory.
This weekend the Spartans wrestle in the Cornell College matmen Invite in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
