Women's Basketball Fall to Vikings on the Road

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The University of Dubuque women's basketball fought from behind on Wednesday night and out scored the host Augustana College Vikings in the third and fourth quarters in a 71-85 loss. 

Four Spartans finished in double digit scoring and were led by Abbey Meyer who scored 16 points in 31 minutes of play and exited the game early with five fouls. Morgan Boer grabbed five rebounds en route to 14 points, CeCe Pope added 13 points, and Madison Boer had 10 points. The Spartans bench combined to finish with 27 points.

A balanced contest with Augie having the slight advantage in shooting from the field 42.6% to UD's 38.8%. Both squads shot 37.5% from beyond the three point area. UD trailed in rebounds 37-42 and the two squads combined for 50 turnovers (UD-24, Augie-26).

The Spartans will wrap-up finals week on the road once again at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 5:00 p.m.
