Women's Basketball Hampered by Cold Shooting

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The University of Dubuque's women's basketball downed by chilly shooting from the field (27.8%) in a 65-100 loss to UW-Eau Claire. Abbey Meyer finished with 15 points. and six rebounds Morgan Boer added 12 points and four steals.

UD struggled to find the offense on Saturday night and finished sinking 20-72 attempts in the loss. The Spartans got some looks from the outside, but would sink 4-27 three point attempts (14.8%). Eau Claire committed 22 fouls and sent the Spartans to the free throw line, where they made 21-24 attempts (87.5%). Meyer sank 9-10 free throw attempts. Rebounds were balanced with UD grabbing 39 and UW-Eau Claire collecting 40. UW-Eau Claire shut down the interior play and held the Spartans to just four points in the paint. 

The Spartans (0-2 overall) host St. Mary's University at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21 on Jon Davison Court in Stoltz Sports Center.
