BOX SCORE vs. Simpson College

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque captured their first conference win on Wednesday night after putting together a complete game and led for a majority of Wednesday's 88-86 win over the Simpson College Storm.

The Spartans starters would do most of the damage, led by senior Abbey Meyer who went 8-16 from the floor and sank 7-10 at the free throw line to finish with 24 points, five assists, and three rebounds. Madison Boer missed just one shot (6-7 from the field) and missed one free throw (7-8) to end the night with 21 points. Morgan Boer added 13 points and CeCe Pope had 10 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Kennedy Collins came off the bench and made 2-3 from beyond the three point arc to finish with eight points, three steals, and a pair of rebounds.

Simpson did most of their scoring in the paint where they led UD 42-26. The Spartans led by as many as 11 points only to have the Storm rally and tie the game with 14 seconds left off a three pointer by Simpson's Claire Johnson. Abbey Meyer drove the length of the court and scored in the paint with six seconds left to give UD the two point advantage. Back to-back Storm timeouts and a turnover at the buzzer would end the game in favor of UD.

The Spartans (2-5 overall, 1-2 in IIAC) travel to face UW-La Crosse in a non-conference match-up on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 3:00 p.m.
