Bonus Points Lead to 39-10 Rout of Augustana

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque wrestling team imposed their will on Augustana (Ill.) on Tuesday, winning eight-of-10 matches to top the Vikings, 39-10.
Yonas Harris opened the scoring for the Spartans at 125 with an easy six points by forfeit before Richard Diaz won by fall at 133 in 4:28.
One of the few tight matches of the night came at 141 between Jevontae Yarbrough and Augustana’s Travis Pulse. Yarbrough led 3-0 in the early portion of the third period when Pulse took down Yarbrough to cut it to 3-2. After an escape from Yarbrough, he took down Pulse again in the final seconds to seal the match and win 7-2.
After Augustana picked up their first win of the day at 149, Michael Mutton got the Spartans back on track with a nail-biting, 5-3 victory. Following Mutton, UD got back-to-back quick pins from Zarik Anderson and Malik Milazzo to give UD a 30-4 advantage.
Ethan Cain gained UD’s eighth and final win of the night in impressive fashion, as he pinned Triston Richardson in a speedy 1:19.
