Cangelosi A-R-C Female Athlete of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Women’s soccer senior forward, Lauren Cangelosi has been named American Rivers Conference Female Athlete of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week for her play last week (10/15-21) in the Spartans two wins.
On Wednesday night, Cangelosi (Clarendon Hills, Ill./Hinsdale Central) scored the game winning goal for the Spartans in overtime to upend Nebraska Wesleyan, 1-0. Cangelosi sent a rocket of a shot from 25 yards out over the goalkeeper’s head for the win. On her senior day on Saturday, Cangelosi recorded a goal and an assist in a 2-0 win over Buena Vista for her 18th and 19th points of the season.
She is the second Spartan this season to earn American Rivers Conference Player of the Week honors this season, however the first on the offensive side of the ball. She joins Victoria Roethler who was Defensive Player of the Week on September 2nd. This is the second time in her career that Cangelosi has been awarded this honor (10/29/17).
