DUBUQUE, Iowa – University of Dubuque’s Heritage Center and the Dubuque County Library District have partnered again for its Page to Stage program. The interactive program, in its second year, provides free activities inspired by the Family Series performances in the 2018-2019 Live at Heritage Center Performing Arts Series.

Each child who attends one of the Dubuque County Library District activities will receive a free ticket, with the purchase of an adult ticket, to a Family Series performance at Heritage Center.

The five Family Series performances are The Sleeping Beauty on Sunday, Nov. 11; Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells! on Sunday, Dec. 2; Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs on Saturday, Jan. 26; E.B. White’s Stuart Little on Sunday, March 31; and The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System on Sunday, April 14.

The Dubuque County Library District will host complimentary programs for children about two weeks prior to each Heritage Center performance. At the first set of activities, children will enjoy the Disney film Sleeping Beauty with an interactive twist. Participants will receive a bag with a script and props as well as instructions for how to play a part in the fairy tale film.

The first set of activities, open to children in preschool and older, will be held Monday, Oct. 22, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at the Dubuque County Library, Farley branch; Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Dubuque County Library, Peosta branch; and Thursday, Oct. 25, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dubuque County Library, Holy Cross branch.

The activities are free, but children must be registered to attend by Saturday, Oct. 20. To register, visit www.dubcolib.lib.ia.us. All registered participants will receive a free children’s book.

Each child who attends the activities will receive a free ticket, with the purchase of an adult ticket, to The Sleeping Beauty on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2:00 p.m. in John and Alice Butler Hall, Heritage Center. Tickets for the show are $15 for adults, $13 for UD alumni and military, $9 for children and students, and $4 for lap seats for children age 3 and younger.
