Jordan Davis to Perform at University of Dubuque Heritage Center

Mar 4, 2019

DUBUQUE, Iowa – University of Dubuque is excited to announce that emerging country star Jordan Davis will perform Friday, May 10, at 8:00 p.m. in John and Alice Butler Hall, Heritage Center.

A new voice in the country scene, Jordan Davis has seen success coming on the back of two hit singles from his 2018 debut album Home State. His first single, “Singles You Up,” took the country airwaves by storm, quickly reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and landing on Spotify’s all-genre Global Viral 50 chart. Jordan Davis scored another hit single with “Take It From Me,” which peaked in the top 10 on Billboard’s Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts.

Tickets are exclusively on sale for UD students, at $10 per ticket with a two ticket limit, until Sunday, March 24. Ticket sales for all others will begin Monday, March 25, at 10:00 a.m. Additional ticket pricing information will be announced later.

Jordan Davis is a Shreveport-born, Nashville-weathered creative soul with his feet firmly planted in two different eras. The imagery in his songs relies on the same specificity behind such classic, lyrically- driven songwriters as John Prine, Jim Croce, and Bob McDill. But the tech-tinged production and silvery phrasing in those same songs embodies the genre-defying musicality of such current acts as Eric Church, Sam Hunt, and Lady Antebellum.

Kyle Mitchell will perform as the opening act. Born and raised on Florida’s Gulf Coast, Kyle was drafted by the Minnesota Twins to play professional baseball. However, an injury led him from sports to music. Blending traditional country, Americana, and blue-eyed soul, Kyle has spent several years on the live circuit and in the studio. His current hit playing on the radio is “One in Georgia.”

The concert is made possible, in part, by the John and Alice Butler Endowment for the Arts at University of Dubuque.

Radio sponsor support for Jordan Davis is provided exclusively by 97.7 Country WGLR-FM, a Queen B station.

Tickets for Jordan Davis will go on sale Monday, March 25, at 10:00 a.m., and can be purchased Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Farber Box Office, Heritage Center, University of Dubuque, 2255 Bennett Street; by phone at 563.585.SHOW; or online at www.dbq.edu/heritagecenter.
