2018 Men's Whistling Straits Championships
KOHLER, Wis. - Men's golf place 15th at 2018 Men's Whistling Straits Championships after shooting 330 and 335. Anthony Mendoza tied for 34th overall after rounds of 80 and 80. Jordan Elliott (165), Kane Hyde (168), Peyton Keefer (172), and Garvin Paper (177).
The Spartans competed on the Par 72 Straits Course, the site of the 2020 Ryder Cup and has hosted the 2004, 2010, and 2015 PGA Championships and the 2007 Senior Open. The Straits sculpted along two miles of Lake Michigan shoreline with fescue fairways and massive sand dune bunkers provided the 87 competitors a challenge on Oct. 22-23. Over the course of two days, just six eagles were scored in the championships.
In Par 5 scoring, Jordan Elliott and Anthony Mendoza both played the course even as teammate Kane Hyde would average 5.13 on the Par 5's.
