INDIANOLA, Iowa – The University of Dubuque men’s soccer team battled the cold rain on Saturday night in Indianola and dropped the American Rivers Conference matchup with Simpson College, 2-0.

How It Happened
-On a wet night, cool night, offense was tough to come by in the first half as the two teams had a combined four shots at halftime. The Spartans (2-7, 0-2 A-R-C) lone shot in the first half came in the 31st minute off the foot of Dominik Chece but was saved by Simpson goalkeeper, Jake Potratz.
-After just the one shot in the first half, the Spartans matched that total in the opening 30 seconds of the second half when a shot from Noah Clarke sailed wide right.
-The Storm (7-3-1, 2-0 A-R-C) were the first team to break through, as they got an empty net off of a cross and converted to grab the 1-0 lead in the 63rd minute.
-In the 76th minute, Simpson put the dagger in the Spartans with their second goal of the game.
