Miranda, Runde and Wright All Earn A-R-C POW Honors

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Daniela Miranda (Women’s Golf), Jenna Runde (Volleyball Defense) and Kara Wright (Volleyball Offense) all received American Rivers Conference Player of the Week honors for their performances over the past week.

Daniela Miranda (Woodstock, Ill./Woodstock North) earned Women’s Golf Player of the Week honors by shooting rounds of 74 and 80 at the American Rivers Conference Championship to lead after the first weekend. With Miranda sitting in first among all individuals, the UD team holds onto second place after shooting 649 (+73), sitting just one shot behind Central heading into the second and final weekend next weekend.

Jenna Runde (Elgin, Ill.) and Kara Wright (Stockton, Ill./Stockton) took home the Defensive and Offense Player of Week awards, respectively. Runde and Wright helped the Spartans to a 2-0 week, which included a 3-2 win over Luther to improve to 3-0 in American Conference Rivers Action. Wright combined for 33 kills over the course of the two Spartans wins over Luther and UW-River Falls with a hitting percentage of .245. She also had 39 digs, averaging 4.33 per set and had four blocks (2 solo, 2 assist). Runde earned defensive honors by posting match totals of 25 and 24 digs in UD's two victories. Runde also had 11 assists and 6 aces.
