Spartans Get Bounce Back Win on the Road

Fond du Lac, Wis. - After a tough defeat on Wednesday night, the University of Dubuque women's soccer team bounced back with a 2-1 road victory over Marian University.

How It Happened
-The Spartans jumped on Marian right out of the gate when Lexus Rose found McKenna Young for Young's first goal of the 208 season in the fourth minute of action.
-UD held serve for the remainder of the first half, taking a 1-0 lead into halftime. However, in just the fourth minute of the second half, Marian scored the equalizer on their seventh shot of the afternoon to make it 1-.
-In the next 30 minutes the Spartans would outshoot Marian 9-1 but the game remained 1-1 until Lexus Rose converted on a penalty kick in the 76th minute to put UD ahead late.
-After the go ahead goal, the Spartan defense stifled Marian, allowing no shots in the last 14 minutes of play,
