Spartans Men's Lacrosse Rally to Beat Lumberjacks

ASHLAND, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's lacrosse team captured the victory on Saturday over the Northland College Lumberjacks 14-10. Each team scored two goals in the first period, then the Lumberjacks broke out in the second to outscore the Spartans 5-3 to lead at halftime by a 7-5 margin. UD rallied back and would outscore the hosts in the second half 9-3 to capture the win.
Micahel Jango and Tanner Weis led the offense with four goals each. Jango led UD this season with 33 goals and will leave his mark in the record book as the Spartans all-time career leader in goals with 104. The Spartans would finish the afternoon by out shooting the Lumberjacks 49-43. UD led in face-offs 18-28 and also in ground balls 22-10. UD was effecient in clears 24-27.
The match was the final regular season contest for the Spartans who finished the 2019 season with a 6-11 overall mark and 1-5 in The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW).
