Track & Field Nearly Sweeps A-R-C Weekly Awards

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Three University of Dubuque track and field student-athletes garnered American Rivers Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors for their performance at the UW-Platteville Invite on Saturday, April 13th.

Maurice Cushion-Lewis (Social Cirlce, Ga./Social Circle) took home the Men’s Field award with a season best jump of 7.02m to finish third at the UW-Platteville Invite and now has the top jump in the A-R-C. He also competed on the track, running the top 100m time in the conference of 10.94 and led off the A-R-C leading 4x100M relay that finished second.

Kayla Slowick (Eldrige, Iowa/North Scott) earned Women’s Field honors after picking up a second place finish at the UW-Platteville Invite in the shot put with a personal best throw of 13.52m/44-4.25. It is currently the 10th best throw in DIII.

Alison Beeman (Lakemoor, Ill./Wauconda) was named Women’s Track Athlete of the Week after becoming a dual winner at the UW-Platteville Invite. Beeman won the 100m dash with a time of 12.07 and the 200m dash in a school record time of 24.80. Both of her winning times are the top mark in the conference.
