Women's Golf Battle for Lead at Fighting Scot Invitational

MONMOUTH, Ill. - The University of Dubuque women's golf team putted their way into second place on Saturday after opening the Fighting Scot Invitational with a round of 335 in tough windy conditions on Gubson Wood Golf Course in the first of two days. The duo of Madison Bowers and Daniela Miranda both shot rounds of 82 to sit tied for 5th heading into Sunday's final round for the Spartans.

The Spartans second team finishwed the day with a team score of 354 to sit at the sixth spot of the 11 teams and 63 competitors competing. Elizabeth Stalla and Lauren Winter led the second squad with rounds of 86. Second round play finishes on Sunday, Sept, 9, with an aniticpated tee time of 8:30 a.m.
