Women's Tennis Hold Court at Home Over St. Ambrose

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's tennis team battled hot, humid conditions on Frank Farber Tennis Courts on Thursday and earned a hard fought 5-4 victory over the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees. The Spartans won #1 and #3 doubles to garb an early lead 2-1 entering singles competition. The contest would go down to the final two matches in singles play. Madeline Parker captured #3 singles 6-4, 6-2 to tie the match at 4-4 with #4 singles yet to finish. Megan Ranney won her first set 6-4 and would hold on to win second set 6-4 to hand the Spartans a 5-4 victory.

UD will travel to Upper Iowa on Sept. 22 for a 3:30 p.m. match before returning to American Rivers Conference play on Sept. 29 at Simspon College and Central College.
