Wright Recognized as AVCA All-Central Region

LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Dubuque junior, volleyball outside hitter Kara Wright, has been named All-Central Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Kara Wright has done it all for the Spartans in 2018, the junior from Stockton, Illinois was the American Rivers Conference MVP as she led the A-R-C with 387 total kills and was second with 3.79 kills per set. Wright was more than just a force on offense; on the defensive end she was 10th in the A-R-C with 369 digs at 3.62 per set. She also added 56 total kills, 11 solo and 45 block assists, good enough for second on the team.
She is the lone student-athlete from the American Rivers Conference to make the list. Wartburg’s outside hitter, Katie Foster, received honorable mention honors.
Wright and the Spartans will play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against the University of Chicago in the Chicago Regional on Friday night at 8:00 p.m.
