A biology major consists of a basic core of
BIO135 - General Zoology BIO136 - General Botany BIO235 - Cell Biology BIO236 - Genetics After this basic core, students specialize into one of two tracks: 1. Pre-Health Professions/Microbiology/Cell Biology or 2. Ecological/Organismal Biology. Students meet with their advisers to plan additional courses, internships, undergraduate research, and other experiences. Biology majors also must complete mathematics through UDMA 150, Physics 151, and Chemistry through UDCM 232. A biology minor consists of 20 credit hours, including BIO110 or BIO111 - Human or General Biology BIO135 - General Zoology BIO136 - General Botany BIO235 - Cell Biology BIO236 - Genetics BIO246 - General Ecology may be substituted for BIO 110/111. Typical Four Year Paradigm Freshman Year: Fall Semester
