About the Program
Careers in biology include teaching, research, quality testing, technical sales, environmental technology, public service, and laboratory work. Biology courses, combined with those in related sciences, furnish preparation for studies in nursing, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, other health-related fields, and graduate school.
- Access to modern laboratory and field facilities, including a new University Science Center.
- Small classes/close instruction. Faculty work closely with students on projects, both on-campus and off-campus in doing science. Student-faculty collaborative research is a high priority.
- Opportunities to receive career-related training from professionals through internships.
- The Mississippi River and nearby natural areas serve as wonderful, proximate outdoor laboratories.
