Donnell Hall - 1967
Financed by government funds and the Donnell family, the Hall was named for A. Douglas Donnell, board member (1940-1978) and chair (1949-1964). After his death, the family, who had continued to be supporters of the University of Dubuque, agreed to have the family name applied to Donnell Hall. Douglas Donnell and David Cassat were longtime close friends, so the proximity of the buildings is appropriate. Both are residence halls. Mr. and Mrs. Donnell's daughter, Jean Parker, serves on the University of Dubuque Board.
