Steffens Hall "the main building" - 1904
Initially
the only building, "the main building" was made possible by gifts from
friends throughout the Presbyterian Synod of the West. It housed offices, class
rooms, a dining hall, library, laundry, laboratories, and dormitory rooms. in
1935, it was named Steffens Hall.
In 1907, through funds provided by Frank H. Peters of St. Louis, the Chapel
was added. By 1981 Steffens Hall had been declared structurally unsound and
was razed, to be replaced by Blades Hall in 1982.
