Group Fitness

Classes will be held Monday through Friday in the CRWC Fitness Studio & Courts along with the Cottingham & Butler Fitness Center. There will be various classes offered.

There is open registration for all classes meaning you are able to attend as often as you wish. A valid and updated University of Dubuque identification card is needed in order to be given access to the facility.

Total Body Conditioning: take your fitness to the next level! Workouts will be CrossFit style, high-intensity, functional movements with body weight exercises, sprints, and some barbell training.  Train in a fun, supportive, and competitive environment that will change your idea of working out.

Circuit: combines intervals of total body strength and calorie burning cardio. Move from station to station while targeting all areas of the body by using a variety of equipment and exercises. 

PiYo: a unique class designed to build strength & gain flexibility through a blend of yoga, pilates, and strength. This class is fun, challenging and will make you sweat. Think sculpted abdominals, increased overall core strength, and greater stability. 

CardioPump: a weight-based group-fitness program. The classes are performed to music using free weights-plates, barbells and an aerobic step. Participants choose their weights based on the exercise and their personal goals. Major muscle groups are worked in a series of compound and isolation-based exercises including squats, presses, dead lifts. The focus is towards muscle endurance using several repetitions

Kickbox Fusion: kickboxing and fitness training incorporating high intensity interval training and body weight strength exercises.

Yoga: is the well-rounded practice of poses and postures that encompass balance, strength, flexibility and mindfulness. Yoga is open to EVERYONE including all ages, physiques and coordination levels. Come and experience both the energy and relaxation yoga can provide. 

YogaFit: is a power yoga combined with "yoga drills" using some weights that are incorporated into poses and postures.

Total Core Care:  a complete core workout to balance your trunk (back and abdominals), shoulders and hips. Using functional core training; resistance tubing, core-stabilization techniques, and both isolated and integrated exercises you will develop coordination, balance, strength and power.

Cycling/Spin:  is an aerobic exercise that takes place on a specially designed stationary bicycle called  a spinning bike. As you pedal, motivating music plays and the instructor talks you through a visualization of an outdoor cycling workout. During the class you vary your pace -- sometimes pedaling as fast as you can, other times cranking up the tension and pedaling slowly from a standing position. This helps you to focus inwardly and work on your mind as well as your body.

Triple Threat Workout:  will be a mix of zumba, cardio kickboxing, and circuit. Each week one of the three different workouts will be the focus for 15-20 minutes and then you will do a little bit of the remaining two for 10 minutes each. This will never allow you to get bored and will always keep you and your body guessing as to what is coming next. Expect to get a full body workout, with the cardio kickboxing and zumba getting your heart rate up, and the circuit moves strengthening your abs, arms, and legs using only your own weight.

Flip Fitness:  is a distinct deck of playing cards that provide you with a total body workout based on the luck of the draw. Flip Fitness requires absolutely no exercise equipment and can be done in virtually any space. Flip Fitness is designed to meet the needs of the beginner exerciser to the workout guru as well as anyone in between.
