Office of Multicultural Student Engagement
Welcome to the page for the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement! The Office of Multicultural Student Engagement works in concert with the offices for International Studies and Student Activities to:
- Raise awareness and promote learning about cross-cultural issues, diversity, and equality among students, staff, and faculty on the UD campus.
- Develop and work with community contacts to promote student engagement within the surrounding community.
- Work with student organizations to encourage programming which will celebrate diversity and promote inclusiveness as part of any on-campus activity; and
- Assist in providing mentoring and/or support to students who feel they are experiencing discrimination in the campus community.
The office compliments the University of Dubuque's mission by helping to build a community where diversity is appreciated and Christian love is practiced. With the belief that diversity should be embraced and celebrated, the Cffice of Multicultural Student Engagement seeks to foster awareness, understanding, and sensitivity to the perspective of groups who have currently and historically been subject to unfair treatment and perceptions due to racism, sexism, and/or sexual orientation.
