Students who plan on teaching should establish a credential file in the Education Department. The Career Services office will maintain credential files prior to 2002 for 10 years, and then they will be destroyed. The credential file is required by school districts as part of the application process for teaching positions. A copy of the file's contents (unless marked confidential) is made available to the student/alum as a "self managed credential" which a student/alum will copy and send when applying to schools. If required by a school district, the credential file housed in the Career Services office or the Education Department may be sent directly to the employer. To order a copy of your non-confidential file, contact the Career Services office. |
