Teacher Education Professional Development Workshops

Beginning with the spring semester of 2010 the Department of Teacher Education will require TE students participate in Teacher Education Professional Development Workshops. Professional Development Workshops are provided to offer students experience and education beyond what is offered in their required course work. It may provide additional certification (i.e., Wet and Wild Instructor or Visual Phonics), inspiring guest speakers, or information regarding current trends in education. This will enable us to both fill gaps in curriculum and highlight areas of interest to our students.

Students must have documented attendance at a minimum of five (5) workshops before they student teach. The annual IEP Writing Workshop is required and must be completed once for all students.

A variety of workshops will be offered each semester. Opportunities will be posted on the TE website under the Professional Development tab.  Plan your work schedules ahead so you are able to participate in these workshops.
