Investments in the endowment are an important source of support for student scholarships, faculty, and program needs in perpetuity. By establishing a newly endowed fund, you can permanently sustain the University's Mission, and honor deserving individuals or organizations.
Invested wisely, the principal of University's endowment is a permanent body of funds that generates interest income that joins with other revenue streams to support the University's operations . Gifts to the endowment can be restricted, or designated, for a specific program or can be left undesignated so that the University can choose how and when to use the income.
The Board of Trustees determines annually the amount of investment earnings to be disbursed from endowment funds. That rate is generally between 4 and 6 percent.
