Position reports to the Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations and works closely with other directors and our alumni board ·         Work with other staff to meet departmental goals and advance the mission of the University ·         Coordinate and supervise student phonathon·         Coordinate Senior Class Gift Program and other student philanthropy programs with the Assistant/Associate Director of Alumni Relations·         Assist with Dubuque Community Partnership Campaign·         Assist with direct mail, electronic and face-to-face solicitation, acknowledgement letters, and special events·         Work with other staff in all areas that support the University of Dubuque’s Annual Fund ·         Other duties as assigned Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in development or experience in marketing, sales or public relations, supplemented by experience as an employee or volunteer for a not-for-profit institution
  • Superior communications skills, including writing and presentation skills, as well as ability to present before a group
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office software
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Discretion and ability to interact with donors
  • Experience in annual fund work and/ or familiarity with a higher education institution is preferred

06/08/2010-Assistant Professor of Computer Graphics and Interactive Media: Gaming

The University of Dubuque is searching for a faculty member to perform teaching duties and curriculum development in the Gaming Track of the CGIM major.

  • 12 credits per semester teaching game development, game theory, game design and/or related courses
  • Supervise educational activities of students under actual or simulated conditions
  • Prepare instructional plans based on occupational analyses to reflect changes in game industry
  • Evaluate student performance
  • Assist in acquisition of necessary hardware/software
 

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:  Master’s degree from accredited college or university in computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physics, mathematics, or computer graphics.  Terminal degree preferred.

 

TEACHING EXPERIENCE:              At least 2 years in higher education or in-house work within a game company.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:  At least 2 years business or industry experience in computer game development.

 

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:   Knowledge of networking and internet use for developing multiplayer games; knowledge of Garage Game Torque, Unreal, Source SDK or similar engines; experience interfacing programming with graphic and sound art; experience creating Play Station, Xbox, Game Cube, etc. or PC games; knowledge of fundamental AI related to game development; knowledge of creating game level map mods; knowledge of game creation using Adobe Flash with ActionScript.

02/18/2010-Assistant or Associate Professor of Aviation
The University of Dubuque, a private institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), is seeking qualified candidates for a flight operations position in the Aviation Department. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, develop curriculum, advise students, and participate in the assessment process. A Master's degree is required (Doctorate preferred) in Aviation, Business, or a related field, along with CFI, IGI, or AGI certification, and appropriate teaching experience.
