The University of Dubuque invites applications for a potential full-time faculty position in Sports Marketing and Management beginning August, 2012. Preferred qualifications include an earned doctorate, teaching experience, and expertise in sports marketing and management. Responsibilities include teaching 24 credit hours per year, advising students, maintaining a scholarship agenda, and participating in the broader life of the University. Depending on the final candidate’s experience, additional responsibilities may include serving as chair of the Health, Wellness, and Recreation department.

The University of Dubuque seeks qualified candidates for a Custodian. This is a full-time position with benefits. Hours may vary. Must be able to perform custodial work required for general maintenance of buildings. The University of Dubuque invites applicants to apply for Adjunct Faculty positions to begin Spring 2012. Minimal qualifications are a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline and preferred University teaching experience; terminal degree and additional experiences are desirable. Depending on teaching assignment, adjunct faculty may expect to teach from 1-3 courses for the semester. Class size generally ranges from 10-24 students.

Director of Prospect Research
Position: The University of Dubuque seeks applicants for a Director of Prospect Research in the Office of University Advancement. S/he will report to the Vice President for Philanthropy and provide comprehensive, accurate data on a wide range of prospective donors – individuals, corporations, and foundations – resulting in a synthesis and clear analysis of information provided from publically accessible sources.
The Candidate: The University seeks a professional with prospect research experience or other related research experience (i.e. legal research). S/he must be a creative thinker; innovative and proactive in identifying, qualifying, and rating current and prospective donors in support of the University’s Mission; proficient in preparing succinct donor profile summaries that can provide insight to gift officers in their work with donors; who enjoys working collaboratively in a team office environment of clear goals and high expectations; must be a person of unquestioned integrity who is accustomed to working with, and handling well, highly confidential information. A well-developed sense of curiosity and a penchant for the process of continuous discovery are critical characteristics of the successful candidate.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years in a higher education setting including 2-4 years of prospect research with membership in APRA (Association of Prospect Researchers for Advancement) preferred. Strong analytic, writing, computer, and interpersonal skills are essential. Also key: attention to detail, flexibility in managing changing priorities, aptitude for legal thinking, and discretion with confidential information.
