I am the Director of the Curriculum Library and the liaison for the Teacher Education Department. My hope is to provide ample resources for the Teacher Education students right here in the Curriculum Library, and to help students find and use these resources.
I have been at the University of Dubuque for over 26 years. I have a master’s degree in Library and Information Science (with an emphasis in Children’s Literature) from the University of Iowa and a master’s in English (minors Creative Writing and Scandinavian Literature) from the University of Minnesota. I taught English in public schools for three years and Freshman English at the University of Minnesota for two years. I have always had a special passion for children’s books and have written one, Christmas in All the World, published by Augsburg, now out of print. I have also written part of a Lutheran Sunday School curriculum, a fantasy called People of the Living Tree. I am especially interested in English school stories, fantasies, and historical novels for children.
If you are someone who enjoys reading children’s or young adult books, come and talk to me!
