UD's Life Services

Mission
The mission of Life Services is to provide a safe and confidential environment for the UD Community, which supports life long learning and educational success, to better assist in reaching personal and career goals.

Goals

  1. Implement programs and provide appropriate referral services that support the recruitment and retention of students.
  2. Promote overall mental health and well-being for the UD community.
  3. Provide programs within the service that support academic success.
  4. Promote activities that increase awareness of intervention and prevention services.
  5. Provide quality programs and services with standards of professional practice and ethical conduct.

OFFICE OF CAREER & LIFE SERVICES ADVISORY COMMITTEE:

The Office of Career & Life Services' (OCLS) Advisory Committee Members represent the following: UD Alumni, Department of Admissions, Department of Academic Affairs, Department of Athletics, Academic Support Center, Library, UD Student Body, UD Faculty, UD Staff, Office of Alumni Relations, Office of International Studies, Office of Multi-Cultural Services, Office of Residential Life, Dubuque Chamber of Commerce, Iowa Workforce Development, Off-Campus Mental Health and Substance Abuse Resources, and alternative On-Campus Resources.

The OCLS Advisory Committee meets twice per academic year (November & April).  If you are interested to serve on the committee, please contact the Student Life Office Manager at (563)-589-3113 or the Director of Career & Life Services at (563)-589-3132 for further details.  Each committee member is asked to serve for a three year term.  UD Students are welcome to serve as guests, if they can not commit to a three year term.
