Combining a daunting array of musical styles and influences to produce a signature sound that is not quite maestro, not quite emcee, Black Violin consists of two classically trained violinists and a DJ who redefine the music world, one string at a time. With influences ranging from Nas and Jay-Z to Shostakovich and Bach, Black Violin breaks all the rules, blending the classical with the modern to create something infectious beyound reason. Opening for Black Violin will be UD alum and recent graduate Adrian Brambila aka "El Tiro" and his Dance Saves Lives dance group. This dance performance will include authentic break dancing, locking, popping, and all other fundamental styles of hip-hop. A special added attraction for the evening will be a free post-performance party hosted by the University Programming Council including Laser Tag, complimentary refreshments, and a chance to meet the performers, and more.
THIS IS A PRIVATE SHOWING.
