    Women's Soccer Receives NSCAA Ethics Award

    The University of Dubuque Women's Soccer team has been awarded the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Ethics Award. The Spartans earned the Silver Award for receiving no red cards and no more than five yellow cards accumulated during the season.

    The Spartans wrestling team finished the day with a 2-1 record at the IIAC Duals. Brian Travis (141 lbs.) and Derek Mizaur (174 lbs.) each finished the day 3-0.

    The University of Dubuque Womens Basketball team travel down the street to take on Loras College in a game televised live by KCRG on Digital Channel 9.2. UD would get outscored in the second half with Loras picking up the 62-56 victory.

    The University of Dubuque men's basketball team improved to 4-3 in the Iowa Conference on Wednesday night after taking the victory at Loras College by a score of 78-66.

    The University of Dubuque men's basketball team had a tough task on Saturday night, attempting to beat the Luther College Norse for the second time in just five days. The host Norse dominated the rebounding and edged out a 60-55 victory over the Spartans.

    The UD Track and Field teams each found themselves in the Top 5 of the USTFCCCA Week #1 Central Region rankings. The Spartan women are currently fifth with 146.05 team points. The UD men's team is third in the region with 317.32 team points and rank 31st in the national poll.

    The University of Dubuque men's basketball needed a spark on Thursday night and in came by way of Mitch Michaelis who posted 28 points in the 77-64 victory over the Wartburg Knights.

    The Spartans Men's Tennis team opened the 2013 season by beating Edgewood College 7-2. UD dropped it's second match of the day vs. Knox College 5-4. D.Johnson and S.Iben each went 4-0 on the day.

    The University of Dubuque Wrestling team beat Loras College 27-12 on Friday night on Jon Davison Court. UD won 7 of the 10 matches with Derek Mizaur winning his 12th straight at 174 lbs.

    Spartans Win on Late Jumper

    The University of Dubuque Women's Basketball team survived 11 lead changes and seven ties against Wartburg College (12-8, 5-4) on Thursday night inside Stoltz Sports Center to come away with a 49-48 victory. Mollie Whiting hit a jumper with 2.1 seconds left in the game to give UD the victory.

    Spartans Defeat Coe

    The University of Dubuque Women's Basketball team opened and closed the first half on 12-0 runs to aid in the Spartans 80-63 victory over Coe College. UD held the Kohawks scoreless for the first 5:57 and jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the process. Senior Mollie Whiting passed 1,500 career points with her first basket of the game.

    Whiting Named Iowa Conference Female Athlete of the Week

    The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced today that University of Dubuque basketball player Mollie Whiting has been named IIAC Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 3, 2013. Whiting continued her outstand senior campaign with 54 points in two Spartan victories.
