Women's Basketball Prepare for 2013 St. Pete Classic by Basketball Destinations on Dec. 20-21

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The University of Dubuque high scoring women's basketball team will take their show on the road leading up to the Christmas Holiday. The Spartans will be competing at the 2013 St. Pete Classic by Basketball Destinations on Dec. 20-21 hosted by Eckerd College in the McArthur Center Gym.

Eckerd is located on 188 acres of waterfront property in St. Petersburg, Florida. The school was founded in 1958 as Florida Presbyterian College and admitted its first students in 1960. In 1972, the College’s name was changed to honor the late Jack M. Eckerd, a prominent Florida civic leader and businessman whose gifts and commitments to the institution have helped to insure its continuing excellence.

UD tips off the tournament with Eureka College on Friday, December 20 at 8:00 p.m. before playing Alverno College on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Eastern time zone.

The Spartans will return home and break for the Christmas holidays before travelling to North Park College on Dec. 31 and kicking off Iowa Conference play on Jan. 8 Vs. Wartburg College in Dubuque at 6:00 p.m.
