CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - University of Dubuque Women's Basetball student-athletes Jenna Kotas (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) and Jessica Goetz (Sussex, Wis./Arrowhead) each earned All-Iowa Conference (IIAC) honors as voted by the leagues coaches. Kotas was named to the First Team while Goetz earned Second Team recognition. The Spartans finished the season with an overall record of 17-9 and tied for second place in the IIAC at 10-4. The second place finish was the best in the programs history. Over the last four seasons the Spartans have won a program best 63 games while also winning 35 conference games during that span.
Loras senior Katie Langmeier was selected the league Most Valuable Player while her coach Justin Heinzen was named Coach of the Year. Langmeier and Coe senior Hannah Breitbach shared IIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors.
The Spartans leading scorer in each of the last 14 games, Kotas finished fourth in the Iowa Conference at 15.8 points per game. In IIAC only games she was third at 15.2 ppg. The UD forward also finished fifth in free throw percentage (81.0%), sixth in three-pointers made (53), seventh in defensive rebounds per game (4.35), and tenth in three-point percentage (31.2%). Kotas was one of only two players in the IIAC to average more than 15.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Her six 20+ point games were the third highest total in the league.

Goetz finished the season as the IIAC leader in steals with 69, the fourth highest single season total in UD history. She was also fifth in assists (76) and blocks (17). Her ten assists and seven steals versus North Central (MN) were the highest totals by anyone in the IIAC this season. Goetz was three points away from becoming the second Spartan to ever finish with 200 points, 100 rebounds, 75 assists, and 50 steals in a single season. She finished with 197 points, 123 rebounds, 76 assists, and 69 steals. Beth Shepard finished the 1992-93 season with 321 points, 154 rebounds, 87 assists, and 73 steals. The 69 steals by Goetz was the fourth highest total in UD Women's Basketball history.
As a team, the Spartans led the IIAC in scoring margin (+8.0), field goal defense (35.4%), three-point defense (27.2%), blocks (127), steals (318), turnover margin (+3.38 per game), and home attendance (7,915 - 660 per game). In Iowa Conference only games, UD averaged a league best 873 attendance. Dubuque scored over 100 points in five games and accounted for four of the five highest single game point totals in school history.
