DUBUQUE, IOWA - The University of Dubuque Women's Lacrosse team braved near freezing temperatures on Monday afternoon en route to their third straight win. The Spartans 11-6 victory over Benedictine had to be moved to the Rock Bowl because of nearly four inches of rain over night. The six goals allowed by UD is the lowest single game total allowed in the programs two year history. The Spartans are 3-7 overall and 2-4 in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference.
Bridgett Schirmers (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) led UD offensively with four goals and two assists. The Spartans outscored their opponents 42-25 during the three game winning streak.

The Spartans wasted no time getting on the board first with Robyn Wittkopf (Pewaukee, Wis./Arrowhead) scoring 0:17 seconds into the game. Benedictine answered back with two goals of their own to take a 2-1 lead eight minutes in. UD responded with goals by Alora Esparza (Silvis, Ill./United Township) and Schirmers to re-take the lead at 3-2.
After a Benedictine goal tied the game at 3-3, UD would score seven unanswered goals during the last 13 minutes of the first half and the first ten minutes of the second half. Judy Borah (Mammoth Lakes, Calif./Pacific Palisades Charter) began the scoring with her first goal of the game before three straight goals by Schirmers put UD ahead 7-3. Lisa Rosas (Arcadia, Calif./Arcadia) scored the fifth and seventh goals of the run with another Borah goal in between.
Borah scored the final goal of the game with 3:12 left to stop a late three goal push by Benedictine.

Itzel Rivera (Fort Knox, Ky./Fort Knox) led the Spartans with five groundballs while Wittkopf had a team high five draw controls won.
