Basic information:

  • Contest will be open to ALL students, faculty, and staff
  • Contest will be held over a 5-week period
  • Teams will consist of 2 participants, contestants may pick their teammate
  • Participants may also sign up as a free agent and be assigned to a team
  • Prizes will be awarded to the "biggest loser "team, 2nd and 3rd place
  • Prizes will also be given to the top three teams based on point totals

Important Dates:
Monday, October 20 -
Captain's meeting 5-5:30pm
Wednesday, October 22 - Contest officially begins! All participants will need to have their weight recorded and will have the option of taking a physical assessment.

Monday, November 17 -
Final weight will be recorded and all members who took the physical assessment will be re-tested to see their progress.
Wednesday, November 19 - An end of the contest get-together will be held. Light refreshments will be available and winners will be announced!

Schedule: (All events will take place at 5:15pm and conclude by 6:15/:30pm)
Week 1
Monday, October 20 -
introduction
Tuesday, October 21 - 1 mile walk (4 laps...timed) @ outdoor track & weigh-ins
Wednesday, October 22 - Grandview walk & assessments
Thursday, October 23 - Stoltz & McCormick resistance training & cardio

Week 2 
Monday, October 27 -
Relays Races/jogging outdoor track
Wednesday, October 29 - Stoltz & McCormick resistance training & cardio
Thursday, October 30 - Pennslyvania walk

Week 3
Monday, November 3 -
Walking/jogging & circuits at the outdoor track
Wednesday, November 5 - Circuits in Cottingham & Butler fitness center
Thursday, November 6 - Cardio in Cottigham & Butler fitness center and indoor track

Week 4
Monday, November 10 -
Resistance training & cardio in C&B Fitness Center/indoor track             
Wednesday, November 12 - Cardio in C&B fitness center/indoor track
Thursday, November 13 - Cardio and resistance training in C&B Fitness Center

Week 5
Monday, November 17 -
Guest Speaker Jim Romagna
Wednesday, November 19 - Final weigh-ins & assessments/contest winners will be announced

Point system:

  • 5 points will be awarded if one team member attends an event
  • 10 points will be awarded per team member if both members attend event
  • 15 points will be awarded each week to every team that has perfect attendance at events
