Policies

Fitness Center Policies

• Only University of Dubuque students, faculty, staff, and other authorized individuals are allowed to use the Fitness Center.
     o UD faculty and staff immediate family members are permitted, but must purchase a membership for $50.00 a semester or $35.00 during the summer from Karla Weber, Athletics Administrative Assistant. 
        - Children of faculty and staff must be 14 years old in order to use the Fitness Center. 
        - Family members under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
     o NICC faculty & students are permitted with an ID.
     o UD alumni are permitted, but must purchase a membership for $50.00 a semester/$35.00 during the summer from Karla Weber, Athletics Administrative Assistant.
        - UD alumni ID cards (like student ID's) can be obtained from the Director for Alumni Relations.

• All eligible patrons must present their I.D. to the control desk and sign-in.

• Proper workout attire must be worn. Proper attire includes closed-toe footwear, workout shorts and a shirt. Shirts must be worn at all times. No jeans, work boots, sandals or clothing that will damage padding on benches or may lead to injury.

• If you do not know how to use a machine properly, ask the fitness center supervisor.

• Please return all weight plates, bars, and dumbbells to appropriate rack after use.

• Do not deliberately drop the weights and dumbbells.

• No open beverage containers, food, gum, or tobacco products are allowed. ONLY sports bottles containing water or sports drinks are allowed.

• All equipment must be used in the manner in which it was intended.

• No verbal or physical attacks on anyone or anything permitted. Foul language will not be tolerated. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

• Violation of any policy will lead to immediate expulsion form the weight room and possible suspension of further use.
