He will counsel mens basketball and spend time re-connecting with Dubuque Alumni as special projects coordinator for the development office.&amp;lt;/span>&amp;lt;br />

Hayes most recently served as Millikin's (first full-time) cross country coach, joining them in August 2006. He will also serve as the distance coach for the Spartans indoor and outdoor track and field teams. &amp;lt;p>A native of Milwaukee, Wis., Hayes has nine years of NCAA Division III coaching experience in cross country and track and field. He was previously the head men's and women's cross country/track and field coach at Methodist College (Fayetteville, N.C.). Hayes served as a head and assistant cross country coach at Lynchburg College (Lynchburg, Va.) and was an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. &amp;lt;/p></description><link>http://www.dbq.edu/news/news1.cfm?ID=385</link></item><item><title>Thompson Announced as Spartans Head Track & Field Coach</title><description>The University of Dubuque welcomes David Thompson as Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach. Thompson takes over for former coaches Katie Meyer, who resigned to pursue other interests, and Jeremy Fellows, who was appointed as offensive coordinator for the Spartans football team. &amp;lt;p>A native of Chicago, Ill., Thompson joins the Spartans program with extensive track and field experience, including success as a student-athlete at North Central College, a NCAA Division III powerhouse in the sport.
